On May 30, 2024, at approximately 12:15 am, Cross Lake RCMP received multiple reports of shots fired at a residence in a North End neighbourhood in Pimicikamak Cree Nation. Officers responded immediately to the area, as no specific address was confirmed. When the residence was located, officers found an injured 13-year-old male inside.

RM of Woodlands — Gypsumville RCMP lay numerous charges after robbery

On May 22, 2024, at approximately 8:55 am, Gypsumville RCMP responded to a report of a male having been shot with an airsoft gun on Highway 6, located near Strong Lake. As officers were responding to the call, information was received that several employees from Manitoba Hydro had stopped at the scene and provided first aid to the victim, kept him warm and placed numerous traffic cones in order to provide emergency services personnel a clearly marked area to safely work in due to the heavy volume of traffic.

On May 28, 2024, at 9:45 am, Flin Flon RCMP received a report of a missing 24-year-old man from an address located on Creekside Drive in Flin Flon. Trevin Steele was last seen on May 23 at approximately 7:30 pm and last made contact with a family member on May 24 at 3:00 am. He's described as being 5'9" in height, 130lbs with brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a green plaid jacket with white sweat pants, white runners and a hat.

Misipawistik Cree Nation — Grand Rapids RCMP seize drugs and ammunition

On May 20, 2024, as part of an ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed at a residence on River Crescent on Misipawistik Cree Nation. Grand Rapids RCMP, the RCMP Emergency Response Team, and RCMP Police Service Dog Mack all attended. The search resulted in officers locating drug paraphernalia, ammunition for a firearm, cell phones, and an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP investigating assault with a weapon complaint

On May 25, 2024, at approximately 11:55 pm, Thompson RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a business establishment located on Moak Crescent in the City of Thompson. It was reported that one of the employees had been assaulted followed by a group of five males fighting outside. One of the suspects had been observed brandishing a handgun while threatening other employees. The suspects then entered a vehicle and fled the scene. The 25-year-old male employee was transported to hospital where he was treated and released.

RCMP and his family are concerned for his wellbeing.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP traffic stop leads to seizure of a loaded handgun, drugs and large sum of cash

On May 17, 2024, at approximately 3:00 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Thompson Drive South, in Thompson. The investigation led officers to conduct a search of the vehicle and the two occupants. Officers seized a loaded handgun with an extended magazine, which was in the passenger's waistband, 113 grams of cocaine, approximately $10,000.00 in cash and drug paraphernalia. The driver, a 69-year-old male from Thompson is facing a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was released from custody with an upcoming court date.

Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation — Nelson House RCMP looking for missing man

On May 22, 2024, at approximately 11:20 am, Nelson House RCMP received a report that Christopher Travis McDonald, 32, of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation was missing since the morning of May 16, 2024. McDonald had been camping in the bush with a group of people. The camp was on Highway 391 west of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. McDonald has not been seen since he reportedly left the camp on foot. RCMP have conducted extensive patrols. RCMP Search and Rescue as well as RCMP Police Dog Services are en route to the community to assist with the search.

The RCMP would like to remind everyone the importance of safety and preparedness before heading out onto the water. As many people take their boats out of winter storage, it is important to ensure it is in proper working order. Boats should be mechanically sound, including all the required safety equipment. Anyone operating a boat with a motor in Canada must possess a Pleasure Craft Operators Card.

Minegoziibe Anishinabe First Nation — Winnipegosis RCMP seize guns and drugs during traffic stop

On May 19, 2024, at approximately 3:15 am, Winnipegosis RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement in Minegoziibe Anishinabe First Nation. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with three occupants. Drug paraphernalia was in plain view, resulting in the arrest of the occupants. When officers searched the vehicle, they located illicit cannabis, crack cocaine in individual baggies, a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, ammunition, black ski masks, Canadian currency, and drug paraphernalia.

Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP conduct traffic stop and seize cash, drugs and weapons

While the officer was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle he noticed a knife inside the vehicle and both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Dauphin — Dauphin RCMP's increased traffic enforcement getting drugs and guns off the street

Over the May long weekend, from May 17-May 19, 2024, and closing off Canada Road Safety Week, Dauphin RCMP was busy doing traffic enforcement in the city. On May 17, 2024, at approximately 8:40 pm, a traffic stop was initiated on Mountain Road. Two of the three occupants of the vehicle were found to have outstanding warrants. Investigation led to the arrest of all three occupants and the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine, a cutting agent, Tramadol pills, drug paraphernalia, and Canadian and American currency.

Ste Rose du Lac — Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP arrest WANTED male

On May 12, 2024, Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP received information on the whereabouts of a WANTED male. Manuel Houle, 39, was currently WANTED on four warrants for a number of serious charges and believed to be inside a residence. Officers contained the home on Ebb and Flow First Nation, and a warrant to search was obtained. Officers along with Police Service Dog Marook, entered the home and located the suspect hiding. He refused to listen to police commands and was arrested after a brief altercation. He was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP execute warrant and seize guns, drugs and cash

On May 14, 2024, at approximately 4:40 pm, Whitemouth RCMP received a report that a two-vehicle collision had occurred on Highway 11 near Provincial Road 307. Officers attended the scene and located a pickup truck and a car in the northbound lane of Highway 11. Initial investigation has determined that the pickup truck was travelling southbound on Highway 11 when it entered the northbound lane, colliding with the northbound car.

On May 13, 2024, at approximately 1:25 am, Chemawawin RCMP was called to the Nursing Station in Chemawawin Cree Nation for a report of a 14-year-old female suffering from serious injuries. When officers arrived, the female was pronounced deceased. It was determined to be homicide. A 19-year-old male was arrested later in the morning on May 13, 2024. Kingsley Lachose is charged with Second Degree Murder and Failing to Comply with a Release Order.

Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP arrest four for robbery

On May 11, 2024, at approximately 10:00 pm, Selkirk RCMP received a call for a robbery at a retail store on Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk. It was reported that a Loss Prevention Officer had been threatened with a knife before the suspects fled in a black SUV, leaving carts full of merchandise behind. Officers attended immediately, and located the black SUV at the intersection of Manitoba Avenue and Highway 9. A traffic stop was initiated.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP investigate aggravated assault

On May 10, 2024, at approximately 11:45 pm, RCMP responded to a report of an injured male, in a parking lot on Mystery Drive, in Thompson. Officers attended and located the injured male and began first aid and CPR until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The victim, a 32-year-old male from Thompson, was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. On May 12, RCMP Major Crime Services charged, Ronald Harvey, 50, of Tataskweyak Cree Nation with Aggravated Assault. He was remanded into custody.
