On May 17, 2024, at approximately 3:00 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Thompson Drive South, in Thompson. The investigation led officers to conduct a search of the vehicle and the two occupants. Officers seized a loaded handgun with an extended magazine, which was in the passenger's waistband, 113 grams of cocaine, approximately $10,000.00 in cash and drug paraphernalia. The driver, a 69-year-old male from Thompson is facing a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was released from custody with an upcoming court date.
