Portage la Prairie — Portage la Prairie RCMP arrest female in stolen vehicle

On March 16, 2024, at approximately 1:00 pm, RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver, on Lorne Avenue, in Portage la Prairie. The vehicle licence plate was checked and found to be associated to a stolen vehicle out of Winnipeg. Officers began patrolling the area but did not locate the vehicle. At approximately 1:55 pm, a second report was received, advising the vehicle was parked on Oak Bay, in Portage la Prairie. The vehicle was located parked at that location and the lone occupant, an adult female, was arrested without incident.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP Make Arrest in Homicide

On March 15, 2024, at approximately 10:15 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of a death at a residence in Thompson.  Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a deceased 31-year-old female from Thompson.  Investigation determined the death was a homicide. Major Crimes Services investigators attended to assist and arrested a 29-year-old male from Thompson. Vincent Bonner has been charged with Manslaughter and Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused remains in custody.

RM of Stuartburn — Emerson RCMP investigating sudden death

On March 16, 2024, at approximately 3:45 pm, Emerson RCMP received a report of a missing 44-year-old female from the RM of Stuartburn. She was last seen leaving her residence in a vehicle at approximately 4:50 am. Officers attended to the home and were advised by family members that her vehicle had been located in the ditch, approximately one kilometre away, and that they had searched the immediate area earlier in the day without success.
