Lac du Bonnet — Lac du Bonnet RCMP traffic stop leads to seizure of drugs

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 11:45 pm, as a result of an ongoing investigation, Lac du Bonnet RCMP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle located on Highway 11 in the RM of Lac du Bonnet. As a result of the traffic stop, the 46-year-old female driver, from the RM of Alexander, and the 34-year-old male passenger, from Lac du Bonnet, were arrested on scene. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a quantity of cocaine and illegal cannabis.

Headingley — Headingley RCMP respond to aggravated assault

On April 28, 2024, at approximately 5:40 pm, Headingley RCMP responded to an assault in progress at a residence in the RM of Macdonald. It was reported that a female was suffering from burn injuries and that the male suspect was still at the scene. Officers immediately attended along with Emergency Medical Services and the Fire Department.

Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP investigate stabbing

On April 21, 2024, at approximately 9:25 pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a stabbing and that the male was currently at the hospital. The investigation determined that the male was with two other adults when he got into an altercation with one of the adults and was stabbed. The victim, a 55-year-old male, remains in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. On April 28, 2024, Selkirk RCMP arrested Darien Williams, 30, of Winnipeg. Powerview RCMP continue to investigate the disappearance of Murray Courchene who last spoke with members of his family on December 15, 2022. Since he was reported missing on January 3, 2023, Powerview RCMP have conducted numerous interviews and, with the assistance of RCMP Search and Rescue and Police Dog Services, conducted ground searches in the Powerview/Pine Falls area, without success, in an effort to locate Courchene.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP investigate two stabbings

On April 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 am, Thompson RCMP received a report that a male had been seen walking toward the hospital with a stab wound. Officers attended the hospital and located a 33-year-old male from Thompson who had been injured with an edged weapon believed to be a machete. The male had been walking in the Brandon Crescent area when he was approached by three or four young males who asked the victim for a cigarette. He was then physically assaulted and injured by the weapon.

April 26, 2024 On April 20, 2024, items belonging to missing person Jamie Wade were located by Minnedosa RCMP, in a pond in the RM of Oakview. RCMP Major Crime Services, the Underwater Recovery Team and Forensic Identification Services attended to assist with the investigation and on April 21, 2024, the body of Jamie Wade was located in the water. Thompson — Thompson RCMP ask for assistance in finding good Samaritan

On April 25, 2024, shortly after 4:00 am, an unknown person dropped off a severely injured male at the Thompson General Hospital in Thompson. It is believed the victim was injured in an assault. RCMP are looking to speak to the person who dropped off the injured male and are asking him to reach out to Thompson RCMP. It is not believed that this individual was involved in the assault, but that he came across the victim and brought him for treatment.

Pukatawagan — Pukatawagan RCMP investigate homicide

On April 23, 2024, at approximately 7:45 am, Pukatawagan RCMP responded to a stabbing at a residence in the community. It was reported the injured male was now at the nursing station. Officers immediately attended and located an injured 42-year-old male. The male succumbed to his injuries at the nursing station. RCMP Major Crime Services attended the community to assist, and Sky Colomb, 27, was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder. He was remanded into custody.

RM of Reynolds — Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic Unit seizes large amount of cocaine

On March 29, 2024, at approximately 7:00 pm, The Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic Unit stopped a westbound vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway in the RM of Reynolds. Officers had reason to believe the driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old male from Alberta, was in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. After the vehicle was stopped, officers conducted a search. The search located a sophisticated aftermarket compartment in the rear of the SUV that contained 61 kilograms of cocaine.

On April 19, 2024, as part of an ongoing investigation, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 9th Street NW, in Portage la Prairie. Officers seized 647 grams of suspected crack cocaine, illicit cannabis and more than $7500 in Canadian currency. Frank Tecza, 39, has been charged with Trafficking, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP arrest male for indecent act

On April 22, 2024, at approximately 11:30 am, RCMP responded to a report of an indecent act at a daycare on Morris Avenue in Selkirk. It was reported a male exposed himself in front of children and staff and then left on foot. An employee immediately contacted police and provided a description. RCMP attended and began making patrols in the area but did not locate the suspect. A second call was received at approximately 1:45 pm advising the male had returned to the area. Officers attended and the male was arrested without incident.

Stonewall RCMP are looking for the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect that was involved in a break and enter, and damage to a property. Early in the morning on April 10, 2024, the suspect was captured on video surveillance at an address on La Salle Road in Oak Bluff. The suspect broke windows on a barn and damaged a vehicle that was parked on the property.

Ebb and Flow First Nation — Ste. Rose-du-Lac RCMP response to assault and firearm complaint

At 3:33 am, on April 13, 2024, Ste. Rose-du-Lac RCMP were dispatched to a report of an assault at a residence in Ebb and Flow First Nation - Gaa-gwekwekojiwang. Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots coming from behind the residence and were notified that a male suspect, who was possibly intoxicated by drugs, had just fled with a rifle. The RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Dauphin RCMP Police Dog Services, the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), and additional officers from the Dauphin RCMP detachment were called to assist.

On April 20, 2024, at approximately 5:00 pm, Amaranth RCMP responded to call for assistance from Manitoba First Nation Police Service (MFNPS), the police of jurisdiction in Sandy Bay First Nation, for an ongoing incident in the community. The call was for a disturbance involving a weapon at a residence. When RCMP and MFNPS arrived on scene, the suspect had fled. RCMP and MFNPS officers tracked the suspect. The 27-year-old male was located in an open outdoor area in Sandy Bay First Nation. He was armed with multiple weapons.

Dauphin — Dauphin RCMP make arrests in major electronics thefts

On April 17th, 2024, at approximately 2:30 pm, RCMP in Dauphin received a call about a theft at a business on Main Street. It was reported two unknown males stole a number of electronics and then fled the store in a black SUV. A third male was identified by witnesses and was seen on foot. He was later picked up by the suspects in the SUV. Officers located the suspect vehicle in Riding Mountain National Park, and with assistance from Yellowhead RCMP completed a traffic stop. All three were arrested without incident.

Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation — Nelson House RCMP search leads to seizure of drugs and cash

On April 16, 2024, as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking, Nelson House RCMP, along with assistance from the Manitoba North District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), executed a search warrant at a residence located in the community of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. As a result of the search, officers seized approximately 85 grams of cocaine, 24 grams of crack cocaine, over $3,000.00 in cash and other drug-related paraphernalia.

On April 16, 2024, at approximately 10:25 am, Spruce Plains RCMP received a report of a missing 35-year-old female from Minnedosa.Ashley Gunter, 35, was last seen on April 13, 2024, at a residence located on White Swan Street in Brandon. A possible sighting was reported earlier today at around 12:00 pm in the Delta Bay area in Brandon. Ashley is described as being 5'2", 140 pounds, with brown hair and hazel colored eyes.

RM of Lac du Bonnet — Lac du Bonnet RCMP search warrant leads to recovery of stolen property

On April 15, 2024, as a result of an ongoing investigation into several break and enters in the area, Lac du Bonnet RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence located on Aspit Road, in the RM of Lac du Bonnet. The search resulted in the recovery of stolen property as well as the seizure of approximately 70 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 6 grams of cocaine and other drug-related paraphernalia. David Wagner, 45, of Winnipeg, has been arrested and was remanded into custody on charges of Break and Enter x2. Further charges are anticipated.

Portage la Prairie — Portage la Prairie RCMP investigating substantial theft

On March 10, 2024, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a theft that had occurred at approximately 9:30 pm, the night before, at a business on Sissons Drive, in Portage la Prairie. It was reported that three adults, two males and a female, entered the business and went to the electronic area. The female suspect distracted the employee, and the two males broke into the locked cabinet and stole approximately 60 Apple iPhones. The entire incident occurred within minutes. The theft was not discovered until the following morning.

Winnipeg — Manitoba RCMP make arrests in hockey hazing incident

On April 15, 2024, three 17-year-old males were arrested in relation to hazing incidents on a hockey team that was reported to police on February 20, 2024. Two of the males were arrested for Sexual Assault with a Weapon, Sexual Assault, and Forcible Confinement. One of the males was arrested for Sexual Assault and Assault. There were two separate incidents of hazing involving five victims who were rookies on the team. The victims are aged 15 and 16.
