On April 20, 2024, at approximately 5:00 pm, Amaranth RCMP responded to call for assistance from Manitoba First Nation Police Service (MFNPS), the police of jurisdiction in Sandy Bay First Nation, for an ongoing incident in the community. The call was for a disturbance involving a weapon at a residence. When RCMP and MFNPS arrived on scene, the suspect had fled. RCMP and MFNPS officers tracked the suspect. The 27-year-old male was located in an open outdoor area in Sandy Bay First Nation. He was armed with multiple weapons.
