Norway House — Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services investigating suspicious death

On November 12, 2024, at approximately 7:30 am, Norway House RCMP were dispatched to a residence in the community for assistance. When officers and EMS attended, they located a 23-year-old female deceased, inside the residence. At this time, the incident is deemed suspicious in nature. RCMP Major Crime Services (MCS) has taken over carriage of the investigation.  MCS, along with Norway House detachment, and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP investigating serious assault

On November 5, 2024, at approximately 8:30pm, Thompson RCMP received information about a male that had been admitted to hospital with serious injuries. After further investigation, officers discovered 64-year-old Melvin Anderson was found in front of a residence on Martin Bay during the early evening of November 4, after a family member was alerted to his location. Due to the nature of the victim's injuries, he was transferred to a hospital in Winnipeg where his condition has improved.

RM East St. Paul — RCMP respond to multiple-vehicle collision

On November 6, 2024, at approximately 6:30 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 59, that occurred on the bridge just south of Springhill Winter Sports Park. The initial investigation has determined that a vehicle, heading south, lost control on the bridge. This resulted in a chain reaction of collisions that involved nineteen vehicles. When officers arrived on scene, they immediately began re-routing vehicles to avoid further collisions at the site.

On November 2, 2024, at 3:25 pm, Swan River RCMP responded to a report of a 24-year-old male having assaulted several people and was now walking around the community with a firearm. As officers arrived in the community, information was received that the suspect had fled the area after being picked up in a vehicle.

Swan River — Swan River RCMP investigating homicide

On November 1, 2024, at approximately 11:00 pm, Swan River RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive male in Legion Park in the Town of Swan River. Officers arrived on scene and located a 21-year-old male, from Brandon, with obvious injuries who was pronounced deceased on scene. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Portage La Prairie — RCMP investigating multiple grandparent scams and issue warning to all Manitobans

On October 30th, 2024, Portage la Prairie RCMP received two reports of senior citizens within the community being defrauded of money after receiving a call from an individual claiming to be a lawyer. One resident from Portage la Prairie and one from MacGregor, both stated the unknown male caller was claiming to be a lawyer for their grandchild. In both cases, the suspect would provide the victim with the grandchild's name, indicating that they were in jail and needed money for bail. Both victims agreed to provide money to the suspect.

Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP search for missing male

On October 27, 2024, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a missing 32-year-old male. Patrick Awa was last seen on foot, on Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk and hasn't been seen or heard from since. The RCMP are concerned for his safety and wellbeing. Patrick is described as 5'7", approximately 180 pounds, with black and blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a green long sleeve shirt, beige track pants with a green stripe and sneakers, and may be in Winnipeg.

RM of Grahamdale — Update - Gypsumville RCMP investigating found human remains of infant

The remains located on a property located off of Highway 6 in the RM of Grahamdale on June 3, 2024, have been identified as Xavia Skye Lynn Butler, who would have been between one to two years old at the time of her death. She was found in a barn on the property. Xavia's death is being investigated as a homicide.
