RM of North Norfolk — Portage la Prairie RCMP respond to fatal structure fire

On December 10, 2024, at 7:40 pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP received a report of a structure fire at a residence located off of Provincial Road 352, west of Highway 34, in the RM of North Norfolk. RCMP, along with the local fire department, attended the scene. Once the fire was brought under control and extinguished, firefighters entered the home and located the remains of a deceased individual within the residence. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

While patrolling the area, officers conducted a traffic stop and recognized the male driver of the vehicle as a person with an outstanding warrant.
