On June 3, 2024, at approximately 8 :40 pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP were patrolling in the community when a vehicle with no registration was spotted at the corner of 6th Avenue NW and Fisher Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated. It was immediately confirmed that the vehicle was not registered and the 24-year-old female from Portage did not have a valid licence. The 28-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was found to be breaching a Release Order not to have contact with the driver. He was arrested.
