On April 6, 2024, at approximately 12:10 am, Norway House RCMP received an emergency call of a violent assault in progress of a pre-teen girl at a residence in the Kinosao Sipi Cree Nation. Officers were also informed that the suspect had a knife and was threatening to stab the young girl and any police officer who responded. Multiple officers immediately responded to ensure the safety of the young girl.
