Lake St. Martin First Nation — Gypsumville RCMP respond to homicide

On May 1, 2024, at approximately 9:00 am, Gypsumville RCMP responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in Lake St. Martin First Nation. Officers responded immediately and located a deceased adult female on scene. Her death is being investigated as a homicide. The incident does not appear to be random. RCMP Major Crime Services is en route to the community to take carriage of the investigation. More information will be provided when it becomes available.
