Russell — Russell RCMP investigating traffic stop that leads to two arrests

On December 3, 2024, at approximately 1:15pm, Russell RCMP initiated a traffic stop in the town of Russell. When speaking with the male driver, the officer noticed a package of unstamped cigarettes in the passenger side door. After a subsequent search of the vehicle, additional illegal prescription drugs were located. Both passengers, 46-year-old Steven Jarvis, and a 36-year-old female passenger, were arrested on scene. During that process, the officer observed the male trying to destroy evidence.
