On Friday, October 25, 2024, at approximately 8:00am, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a missing 40-year-old male. Lionel Leveque was last seen on October 24, in Selkirk, but hasn't been heard from or seen since. The RCMP are concerned for his safety and wellbeing. Lionel is approximately 6'2", 180 pounds, with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black or grey winter jacket, dark blue jeans, and may be heading to Winnipeg.

Officers attended and located a 48-year-old male from the community deceased as a result of homicide. The deceased was the resident of the home. RCMP Major Crime Services investigators attended to Emerson. Investigation quickly determined this was an isolated incident and there was no risk to public safety.
