Winnipeg — Manitoba RCMP seize large sum of cash from luggage

On October 26, 2024, at approximately 10:55 am, RCMP officers were called to attend to the screening area at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport on a report of a suitcase containing a large quantity of Canadian currency. Officers then attended to the departure area and located the owner of the suitcase. A 30-year-old male, from Calgary, who was destined for Toronto, was arrested for Possession of Proceeds of Crime and later released from custody for a court appearance scheduled for February 3, 2025, in Winnipeg.

While patrolling the area, officers conducted a traffic stop and recognized the male driver of the vehicle as a person with an outstanding warrant.
