Just before 3:00pm on August 6, 2024, Selkirk RCMP were called to an assault and robbery near a business on Main Street in Selkirk. The investigation has revealed the victim was struck in the head from behind and robbed of a large sum of money. Witnesses described the suspect as male with a slim build, wearing a silver hat or jacket. Anyone with information is asked to contact Selkirk RCMP at 204-482-1222. The investigation continues.

Officers attended and located a 48-year-old male from the community deceased as a result of homicide. The deceased was the resident of the home. RCMP Major Crime Services investigators attended to Emerson. Investigation quickly determined this was an isolated incident and there was no risk to public safety.
