Thompson — Thompson RCMP search for missing youth

On July 16, 2024, Thompson RCMP received a report of a missing 13-year-old male from Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. It was reported that Jacoby Francois was with friends and a known adult in Thompson and had travelled to Winnipeg, but no one was able to confirm his whereabouts, or if he had returned to Thompson. It is believed he may be in Thompson, Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (Nelson House) or Winnipeg. Officers have attended several residences in those areas but have not located Jacoby.

Officers attended and were advised that a 31-year-old female, from Winnipeg, had been assaulted by a 53-year-old male, from Portage la Prairie, who was then subsequently assaulted by a 37-year-old male, from the RM of Portage la Prarie.
