Portage la Prairie — Portage la Prairie RCMP investigate stabbing

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 1:20 am, RCMP responded to a stabbing on 2nd Street NE in Portage la Prairie. Officers immediately attended and located a 37-year-old male with serious injuries. Officers administered first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported him to hospital where he remains. It was reported the male was on a bicycle when two individuals approached him, stabbed him, and stole his mountain bike.  The suspects are described as being in their late teens or early 20's, wearing dark clothing.
