On June 25, 2024, at approximately 11:40 am, Cross Lake RCMP responded to a shooting that occurred at a residence on Pimicikamak Cree Nation. The victim, a 29-year-old female, was taken to the nursing station and transported to Winnipeg with serious injuries. The investigation has determined the female was shot inside her residence and the suspect fled.
