On April 10, 2024, at approximately 4:40 pm, Ashern RCMP received a report of a carjacking at knifepoint that occurred on Kirkfield Drive in Ashern. The victim, a 26-year-old male from Ashern, advised he was outside his residence when he was approached by three individuals, one male and two females known to him, who demanded his vehicle keys and threatened him with a knife. The keys were provided and the suspects fled the scene.

While patrolling the area, officers conducted a traffic stop and recognized the male driver of the vehicle as a person with an outstanding warrant.
